São Paulo, April 2015–BSA| Software Alliance, a global leader in software industry solutions for governments and international corporations, will grant Verafirm certification for Adventist university of São Paulo (UNASP) on May 7th. The certification program was developed by experienced SAM auditors from the BSA team. Besides a certification, Verafirm offers educational tools to help companies of all sizes adopt the best practices in software management and to ensure a strong IT administration. It helps companies source needed software in conformance with their licenses while promoting administrative effectiveness through time-savings and cost-effectiveness.” According to a BSA survey of IT directors, half of them identify managing software assets and licenses as their primary organizational challenge.
A survey performed by the International Data Corporation (IDC) showed 56% of companies utilizing SAM protocols reported a surplus of unneeded tools and 38% had insufficient licensing. The same global survey showed an average loss of US$ 407.00 in software licensing costs per computer yearly.
Kelley lists the main benefits of the certification: return of the invested money - 80% of certified companies reduce their licensing costs by 35%; audits tolerance, the certification exempts the company from two-year audit; and more security of the information and global recognition.
